American Culture Class:My Heroes

     Heroes are people who do not just have the power in their body, there are many heroes in our lives with out superpower .Through history ,their have been a lot of people who have reached beautiful goals . For example, when Oscar came to USA he want to learn the English language and get more information about American culture and he did then he want to go back home with a beautiful goal. Caliche, aspires to speak English as a native speakers and he still pursue his goal until he achieves it . Hasan's goal is to get a master's degree in physiotherapy and he stayed one year just to get the acceptance at the college and finally, he got it . Ultimately,to be a hero in your life do not necessary to be a super heroe ,the only thing that you need is to get enough determination which allows you to achieve your goal .

The American Culture Class : Superheroes

      In American Culture Class we discussed the american idea of superheroes . There are many famous superheroes in American culture such as Batman,Superman ,Spiderman  ,,,etc . We read an except form the book 'superheroes and philosophy' by Jeph Loeb and Tom Morris . Many writers , artists , and other people who create the stories of  Superheroes believe that these characters embody our deepest hopes and fears. They feel that superheroes represent our highest ambitions and help us deal with our worst nightmares .Superheroes have powers and abilities far beyond ordinary human abilities . But most importantly ,every one of them pursues justice,helps people who cannot help themselves ,and fights evil with the force of good. They are extraordinarily powerful people who have both strengths and weaknesses .Plato , the Greek philosopher, believed that good is inherently attractive.But they have probably been around for so long and have continued to be so popular, in part because they speak to our hopes. When we confront adversity in our lives, we are often inclined to just give up and find an easier path. But superheroes show us that nothing worth doing is easy. Batman can keep us going even when the going is is very tough.

      In American Culture Class we held a debate last week about the American presidential elections.We discussed many of Obama’s and Romney's politics and what are the difference’s between them. For example Obama is supporting a abortion and same sex-marriage .Otherwise Romney is disagree .And Obama’s policy is the education more important than economy ,So the education is first and the economy is the second .Romney has another hand that the economy is more important than the education .As a result, the debate was very important and we hope the right person wins the presidency of America .

     I read a story a bout John who is an African American who played football in college .Also, he was a partner in a large law firm and lived in a mostly white suburban neighborhood .And every night when he came home from work around 6:30pm ,he would change into his jogging clothes and go for a run through the streets of his town .Also, when white people saw him running toward them, they often crossed the street quickly ; several times a police patrol car stopped him and asked for his identification and where he was going in such a hurry .These things mad him angry because the people who lived in his neighborhood take a bad prejudice about him. As a result , we must believe that there are no differences between white people and black people we are the same . All of us just a human being .

     Birth event in Saudi Arabia it mostly different for USA. Because there is no party before the woman get born as a baby shower. party is coming after born. And when the friends heard about her they will visit her and bring with them gifts, stuffs for baby, money or even food for the guests to help their friend actually it’s depends on the person how is close with woman.




 

     Wedding engagement event in KSA .First of all, when the son decided to get married his parents will looking for good girl him .When they find her they will telling their son if he want her or not. Otherwise if he loves any girl he should telling his parents about her then they will go to talk with her parents .After that if her parents agree the son will coming to see his wife and give her a golden ring. After that they will choice the date of wedding.

     Wedding ceremony event is almost different for USA in KSA .The host family should reserve a hall ceremony with food, desserts and juice for guests. Farther more, they prepared the hall ceremony to make a traditional dancing such as Ardah,Samry and Daha after that the husband go to take his wife to his house.
